Since opening the shop, I haven't had much time to bead! In fact, many of my samples you see in the shop are pieces I created before I even opened the shop. However, whenever we bring new materials into the store, I can't resist experimenting with them! So on my beadclub page you'll find creations using our latest materials.
I've listed the raw materials cost and time on the page, as well as a price if you want me to make a finished piece for you...although I highly encourage to try and make it yourself. You'd be surprised at how easy many of these projects are!
Enjoy!

Fall Herringbone
| |
| |
The fall leaves have inspired me and most of my work lately seems to be in their colors. I will admit that I didn't learn wire herringbone until just this month when we held our first wire herringbone class! But thanks to Pam, I sat through her class and learned it in a snap. Pam, learned from our friend Kyla Majors, who excels at just about any wire work. The design was inspired by our friend and customer Elise who has gone wild with byzantine! The pendant is made with sardonyx and the rest of the necklace is byzantine links and herringbone wrapped adventurine.

Lampwork Pendants
| |
| |
I love lampwork beads, but like most people, I often have a hard time figuring out what to do with them! This is my favorite way to use them. The pendants are great for travelling. Just bring along one cord and a few different pendants and change them out each day to match your outfit...and they always get compliments! The one on the cord was made for my friend Kat, who worships the color orange. The bead was made by a local artist named Charley Murphy. The blue spotted one was designed by my neighbor Barb...it's just capped with 2 silver saucers...clever and simple.
Materials cost: $16 (including cord) Time: Just a few minutes
Finished price: $20

Lampwork, ceramic and turquoise bracelet
| |
| |
I love stretchy bracelets. They are easy to wear and it is one of the first things we often learn to make as beaders. I was inspired by a bracelet my friend Judy made when I created this one. The combination of turquoise, lampworked beads and patina copper coated ceramic beads makes it look rustic with almost an antiquity feel.

Finished price: $22

Barb's Necklace
| |
| |
I first created this necklace for my neighbor Barb. She has a head of gorgeous thick dark hair (yes, that's jealousy you hear)! The brown pendant and rust colored Czech glass beads look great on her. It became one of my favorites so I chose it as one of the designs for the Children's lot at the Auction of Washington wines. (See Kate and Emily's page for all the designs.) This is a simple strung piece, so it is great for a beginner!

My Friends are Gems!
| |
| |
This necklace is special to me because my mom, my friends Kendra and Carole, and myself all made the lampwork beads in our very first lampwork class. It is also a great example of how you can combine random beads into a pleasing design. There is always a way to make things match! In this case, we pulled out a common or coordinating color (the cobalt blue)and offset the beads with sterling silver caps. My favorite color is chartreuse, so guess which beads I made!!
Sorry, as you can imagine, this one is not for sale!

Stamp Pendant on Italian cord
| |
| |
My best friend Brenda and I collected stamps when we were kids. We'd spend HOURS sorting them into our stamp books while eating her mothers zucchini bread (recipe to be posted soon!) These are from both our books, so they bring back great memories. We have dozens of different sterling silver framed stamps in stock right now, let us know if you are looking for something in particular.

Amberlite knotted necklace
| |
| |
I had the round amberlite beads when we opened the shop, and when a supplier showed me the matching pendant a month later...well, I couldn't resist. Throw in a few firepolished crystals and some Czech glass and does this necklace scream autumn or what! You'll probably see a lot of knotted necklaces from me, it is one of my favorite beading methods...and its quick!
Materials cost: $15 Time: 1 hour
Finished price: $35
